I was at My Aylesbury High class on Wednesday (A-town massive! woop woop!) trying to explain why Hip Hop Don’t Stop is so sick.  I couldn’t do it because what makes it so special is how it makes you feel, I don’t mean that in a hippy “lets sit round a campfire and sing kumby-ya” way! I mean unless you have experienced the positivity and energy at the event then you simply won’t get it, it’s like trying to describe to someone how you feel when you jump out of a plane.  You can describe it but other people who haven’t experienced it won’t get it until they jump out of the plane too. You know at Hip Hop Don’t Stop you will:

• Get personal access to the best instructors in Europe
• learn Real deal authentic Street Dance
• Discover the secrets to make your freestyle stand out from the crowd
• Make new friends and laugh a lot!
• Grow in confidence emotionally and in your dance
• Learn from one of Madonnas choreographers
• Learn from TWO! UK champions
• Be able to connect with the wider Urban Strides community and share in the positivity

BUT! What I can’t put down in words is just how good it will make you feel, the passion, the fun the energy the moments when you laugh so much you think a bit of wee is gonna come out!! All of these things I can tell you but you have to be their to feel it for yourself. It’s like that old saying you have to see it to believe it.  So I thought you should have a look about how other people feel about Hip Hop Don’t Stop, check the vid: our instructors Mekanikool ( UK Champion 06,07) Dickson ( UK champion07,08,09) and Marcus ( From U.S.A – Renee Harris Pure Movement) are quite adament that there is nothing like this in London or the rest of the UK and they should know they teach all over the world from Singapore, to Denmark!

This is what this event is all about! This is Segun’s 2nd year of Hip Hop Don’t Stop and he took full advantage of the week, he was always in the circle and he improved rapidly, we can’t wait to see how much he has come on for the Autumn week. You really do get out what you put in, so challenge yourself and take a positive step, be commited to fullfilling your potential because when you can freestyle with total confidence there is no better feeling.  You only have 2 weeks to confirm your place at HIp Hop Don’t Stop and the places are filling up quick you will get so much out of it I am telling you about it because it has the potential to dramatically transform the way you dance for the better, just look at Segun.

What can I say this week has been next level! The difference in your levels of dance has been awesome even after 3 days I could see a massive improvement, that is very impressive given the short space of time you should be v. proud of yourselves.  The level of real authentic funk has been dope, all the instructors have been so impressed at your brilliant attitudes and what a pleasure it has been to share their knowledge with you, nice work! I would love to hear what you guys think of the week so far, hit me up and let me know what has been your highlights of the week and what you feel has been most beneficial to your development.

I literally can’t wait!

This is it, the summer event of the year. I am so excited about hip hop dont stop this year we just confirmed some new instructors plus I just got off the phone with the usual suspects, JP, Mekanikool and sasha, + Dickson can’t wait to see you all again.  Jp wanted you to know that he will “smash da place” Just thought I’d pass that on! Dickson has new words for us, 08 was all about spounch but he promises he is bringing the noise.  This year will better than ever we are switching venues so you will have more room, and more time in each class, so you can interact even more with the teachers after each class.

What can I say, straight nasty.

We performed on Tuesday and Wednesday at breakin convention and had so much fun.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came and supported, everyone that went seemed to have a ball.  It’s so important for us as an Urban Strides community to support as many hip hop and street dance cultural events as possible, it’s our community after all and the peeps at breakin convention put it on for people like you and me so it’s vital we reprrresssseeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttt!  It was an incredibly inspirational couple of days, working with Jonzi, and having some very insightful and deep discussions with Salah and Ken Swift made it an even more fullfilling experience.  Those of you who came to the after party, realised that it was next level, the world popping champion jamming with the 05 bboy crew of the year alongside the living legends from the 7 gems was so dope I cant tell you.  I cant imagine High wycombe are going to see a jam like that for a very long time!  Those of you who couldnt make it here is our performance on the wednesday of the William Tell Overture. If you came to breakin convention let us know what night you came and what you thought, let us know your highlights. I have some sick news!  Every two years we are privelaged to have the worlds finest hip hop crews perform at the High Wycombe Swan at the worlds leading hip hop festival!  It only happens once every two years and I have to say the calliber of artists we have is awesome. Breakin convention is an awesome experience showcasing the worlds finest street dance crews,  Urban Strides are performing on both days (represeeeeent!)  and we are doing a world exclusive on the wednesday night, I dont want to say too much but I can guareentee it is a world first!

The shows are on Tuesday 5th May at 7.30 pm and

Wednesday 6th May @ 7.30pm

We are proud to announce that the Official Urban Strides Dance Crew have been selected to perform on BOTH nights of the Breakin Convention Tour at the Wycombe Swan!

On Tuesday 5th May, Andy and our youngest dance crew member James have been asked to perform their locking duet and on Wednesday 6th, the Crew are performing an innovative and extremely exciting new piece. It is the biggest Dance Exhibition in the UK and brings together every style of dance under one roof for three fantastic days, starting on Friday. At Move It you can watch 100 live performances, take your pick of 250 dance classes from every genre and meet up to 160 dance suppliers.

Urban Strides are exhibiting, teaching and performing. Our performance times are;
